Guardian Defensive Solutions was built on the foundation of two solid companies; CD Shoot, and Guardian Defensive Shooting. CD Shoot had been providing the Texas Concealed Handgun License Course to Houstonians since 1996, and Guardian Defensive Shooting had spent the last 4 years supplying the latest in armed self defense tactics. Now, under one roof, Guardian Defensive Solutions will provide the complete firearms training package.

Our mission is to provide professional training on every level, whether it is in the classroom or on the range. We strive to serve our students with the utmost respect, and patience throughout their training experience. We believe that everyone must start somewhere, and that education is an experience without conclusion. As instructors this mission is easy to accomplish because we are truly passionate about what we do. We teach with the philosophy that “evil prevails when good men fail to act.” Our goal is to provide these good men and women the skills needed to act as safely and efficiently as possible.

As you look at our logo you will understand our mindset. It was based off the Chinese Yin and Yang. The white gun symbolizes good, and the dark evil; however, as you look at the “trigger guard” of each weapon you will notice the adverse color. This is because neither good nor evil is completely pure. Perhaps this is why nearly 75% of rape victims know their attackers; it was that little bit of good that allowed them to get close before the evil prevailed. On the other hand there are good people, but again we are not completely pure, deep inside there is that little piece of evil. Contrary to the belief of today’s society, it is actually a positive thing that good people encompass a tiny piece of evil deep down. This is best described by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman in his book On Combat.

He tells of a conversation with a Vietnam veteran where the veteran categorizes society into three types of people: sheep, wolves, and sheepdogs. The sheep are the majority of today’s society. They are “kind, decent people who are not capable of hurting each other, except by accident or extreme provocation.” The next category is the wolves. “Wolves feed on sheep without mercy.” Currently our world is full of them; these are the bad guys. (i.e. rapist, murders, child molesters, thieves) The final category is the sheep dog. Sheep dogs are good people that love their self, their family, their community, and their country so much that when confronted by violence, and given no other choice, become violent against the praying wolf.
